25072014

Nifty opened 6 points below PDC, at lower extreme of prev. day’s closing range (MSP).
Initial range formed sandwiching yesterday’s MSP and then broke IRL.
1) BPB of IRL. Target was BRN for this trade.  Booked at around BRN when it came back above BRN after breaking it. Profit of 11 points.
2) BO of Range Low after PP formation. It did break the PDL but failed to move further down. Booked at 15 points of profit.

Another way to do is, click ctrl N on mt4, navigator window opens. Then click scripts, a period converter is already present there without any download. Right click on period converter then click execute on chart or hold it with mouse button and drag it on the chart. Rest of the process is same as mentioned in the original MT4 post.

Hope this way it would help you.

  2. Dear URD. I also have a problem. The indicator provided by you doesn't work on my mt4 (Windows 8, 64 bit). But the script that you are talking about does work. That's great. But, if I want to replay the market using strategy tester then the script doesn't work. So, the problem is I cannot backtest the method by moving the market tick by tick.
Can you please suggest a method by which I can use strategy tester on 3 min chart.

I have used the period converter indicator on windows XP and windows 7 64 bit and no issues there. I have no idea how it works on windows 8.

However, I will try to find the solution if possible on Sunday when I have some free time. In the meantime, try to google it or try to modify the settings of the script/indicator and see if something clicks.

Thanks a lot. This one is better than the current one I am using. In this we can modify the default time zone. I am sure it will help others facing problem with the current one.

Search your computer for the folder called "MQL4." There will be a folder called "indicators" in it. You would need to put that period converter indicator in this folder "indicators." After that, close the MT4 and restart it. Now insert the indicator and follow the remaining instructions as mentioned in the post.

  6. Dear Daveji

I have inserted the period indicator uner "MQL4- Indicators". But it is not visible for editing when you right click on the chart nor is it appearing under "MQl4-Indicators". Rather it appears under "Scripts". I tired to drag and change but it does not work.

You would need to apply the indicator to the chart. Then only it will appear when you right click on chart under indicator list. The one which appears under "scripts" is the script and not the indicator. You will have to apply the script every time you open the chart.
